FAQ

Why hire an executive coach?

My clients hire a coach because they are hungry for exponential growth—usually related to their work and/or the service of their families and communities. They are high-performing individuals that are not satisfied with the status quo but want to explore what they are truly capable of and desire measurable and surprising results. They recognize the need for an outside perspective in order to achieve their vision in an accelerated timeline with increased satisfaction.

What do you look for in a client?

I love to work with leaders who have a vision (or want to have a vision) that will require rapid personal growth to accomplish it. I seek clients that welcome direct feedback and desire a new perspective on their old behaviors and ways of thinking. Curiosity is key. Are you interested in getting curious about what you don’t know you don’t know? Are you willing to try on a new way of thinking about yourself, a situation, a circumstance, or a relationship for the sake of your vision? I love to work with clients that are excited about exploring and expanding their generosity and impact AND I coach to stimulate those desires when they are hidden or underdeveloped. Start thinking about who you want to benefit from your growth.

How does executive coaching differ

from consulting?

Consultants have a specific specialty and experience and are hired to tell you “what to do” to address a situation. They provide answers based on their experience. When that situation resolves, the consultant’s work is done. In contrast, executive coaching is inquiry-based and invites the client to examine and access all of the resources they have available. Executive coaches are trained to listen carefully and ask powerful questions that illuminate the ways in which clients tend to get in their own way and underestimate their capabilities as they pursue their vision for their work and leadership. By focusing on my clients’ visions, mindsets, and strategies, I partner with them to grow their character, integrity, and leadership in ways that will outlast the coaching relationship and impact all areas of their lives.

How does executive coaching differ

from therapy?

Therapy typically centers on events in the past or present that impact behaviors and emotions. In contrast, executive coaching is laser-focused on the future and how you can bring that future into the present by increasing your integrity (doing what you say you are going to do). Therapy is generally focused on healing, and coaching is focused on performance. As you work with me, you may also identify reasons to partner with a therapist, but the coaching space will stay centered on the vision in front of you and who you need to be to attain the vision.

I want my whole team/company to benefit from this work, can you bring in a team to work with my team?

Yes. Novus Global is firm of executive coaches that work together to impact the trajectory of a business. In our corporate contracts, our team works with your team to elevate the quantity and quality of the conversations you are having and the actions you are taking, and thereby the results you experience.  We believe every team is capable of more than they are experiencing and we are relentless in working to achieve measurable results. Many of our corporate clients have noted that there was a “before Novus” and an “after Novus” in their corporate history and they continue to work with us year after year.  To read a few testimonials about our work with teams see our case studies page on the Novus Global website.
